Listed artist Grace Jorgensen was born in the year 1907 in Fairview, New Jersey. She was known for painting still life, landscapes and maritime paintings. Her use of bright vivid colors with many layers of thick impasto blending down to simple transparent brush strokes. Most of her pieces have a modern take on impressionism. Grace was a member of many artist leagues, including the Fairview Art League, and Doylestown Art League. In her honor, The Grace Jorgensen Award for self-expression and liberal use of color was awarded in the 1970s and 80s. She was happily married with four children. She passed away in Doylestown, New Jersey in the year 1994.
