Guy T. Hembling was born on April 29, 1950, from a well established Rumson, New Jersey family. With a long line of creative family members it was no surprise that his interest in art, architecture, and design.

In the early 1970's he went to Lafayette College in Easton PA, and graduated with his degrees in Art History and Literature. Fresh out of college he moved to Toronto, Canada and began his pursuit of his passion of painting. Self taught, he traveled the world gaining experience, and recognition for his work as a painter and printmaker. He studied different styles around the world and found exactly who he was as an artist.

Hembling maximizes impressionist textures and warm luminescent colors, fused in oriental and tropical designs. Much like the early Fauvist, and Tonalist painters, his work represents a new synthesis of traditional and forward thinking modern influences.

His exhibition history includes The Salmagundi Club, NY; The United States Embassy, San Jose, Costa Rica; Club de Colon, Costa Rica; Ta-Nisa Galleries NYC; University of Maine, Franklin County, Maine; and Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, New Jersey.

While exhibiting in San Jose, Costa Rico, his work was chosen by the Costa Rican Government to represent Costa Rica at the 1979 World Trade Exhibitions in Brussels, Belgium.
