Portrait of Maiden by Samuel Raymond Fanshaw (1814 - 1888).Signed and dated 1863. Little information has been found on this artist except that he was a painter of miniatures and was associated with the National Academy of Design as a student in the antique class in the 1835-1836 season, and the life class for 1839 to 1840. Self described as a Miniature Painter, he was an erratic participant in Academy exhibitions. His miniatures sell for very high prices.
