Description: Rare Italian 15th Century Tile dated 1692 probably Brixen (now Bressanone). It is a rich green-glazed earthenware tile with what looks to be a crest with different symbols. Measures 7 1/2 × 7 1/2 in. Most of these tiles were used in stoves or fireplaces. Similar tiles can be found at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC., Princeton University Museum, The British Museum, Victoria &Albert Museum South Kensington London, and the Swiss National Museum.
