This magnificent Meissen Pate-sur-Pate vase stands an impressive 14 inches tall with a dark green background. Of baluster form, finely painted and hand- tooled in white slip with a scantily draped maiden scattering rose blossoms, the sides with putti, stringing garlands, and the neck and foot with polychrome and gilt scrolls enriched with platinum vine and chartouches of flowers and vines. Most likely done by L. Sturm. Ludwig Sturm German (1844 -1926). Ludwig Sturm is listed as a professor and a independent porcelain painter Dresden and Meissen. It is first quality Meissen.
