Rare 18th Century French Louis XV Marriage Armoire in Walnut. Having three inset panels, wonderful carvings, and elaborate hardware. The two carved hearts at the top signify that this piece was either a wedding gift or part or a woman's dowry. The carved sheaf of wheat neatly tied with a ribbon is an iconic motif designating prosperity and a good life. The carved scrolled feet are original as is the Chapeau de Gendarme crown. Excellent quality, and the overall condition is strong and sturdy.
