Angiolo Barbetti 19th Century Carved Italian Mirror with Cherubs, Birds and Flowers. It has a wonderful knot pattern around the edge. Stamped "Barbetti Firenze." This is all hand carved. Stunning!

Angiolo Barbetti was born in Siena in 1805, the son of one of the city's leading woodcarvers. In 1841 he left Siena for Florence where he set up a workshop, his production being primarily wood sculpture and cabinet-making. Barbetti was one of the foremost carvers who encouraged a major revival in the art of woodcarving in Italy.
